Single Stamp Appraisal
Find out what your stamp is and what it is worth. We look at your photos, write up a formal appraisal, and email it to you.
What you get:
- What your stamp is, with its Scott catalogue number. That is the ID number American collectors and dealers use.
- Other numbers it could be, if there is any doubt about which stamp you have.
- What condition it is in.
- How well centered it is. Centering changes what a stamp is worth.
- The Scott catalogue value, which is the book price.
- What we think it would really sell for, which is often different from the book price.
- An offer to buy it, if we are in a position to buy. Buying an appraisal does not guarantee we will make an offer.
Photos you will need: one clear photo of the front and one of the back. Good light, plain background, stamp filling most of the frame. A phone camera is fine. You send the photos after you buy, using a link we email you.
Delivery: 3 business days after we get your photos.
Have a whole album or box rather than loose stamps? The Stamp Collection Appraisal is the one you want.
Purchase offers: we require a formal appraisal before we purchase a collection or make a purchase offer. Whether the report carries an offer depends on the material and our stock needs, so buying an appraisal does not guarantee a purchase offer. For large or high-value collections we may arrange an in-person inspection or collection, though that is not guaranteed either.
Have more than one stamp? Ten single appraisals cost $99.90. The Ten Stamp Appraisal covers up to 10 stamps for $59.99, so it is cheaper once you have 6 or more.
